What you get

Why homeowners hire out their holes

The machine on a ground mat beside a backyard gazebo.
  • MISS DIG handled

Kirk files the ticket through his contractor portal and doesn't drill until it clears (72 business hours).

  • Your lawn stays a lawn

Ground protection mats go under the machine, so it can drive and turn without rutting your yard.

  • Less risk

Insured, utilities located, and no rented machine in inexperienced hands.

  • Straight and plumb

Every hole checked with an LED inclinometer.

  • Deep holes, done right

Up to 10 feet, including the hard ones next to a foundation.

  • Close to the house

Kirk drills tight to structures, right beside the house.

  • Spoils removal

Kirk can haul the dirt or move it where you want it.

  • No rental hassle

No picking up, returning or paying to deliver a machine, then learning to run it.

  • Help with planning

Layouts available for fences and simple decks (charged separately).

  • Guaranteed work

If a hole isn't plumb or to depth, Kirk redrills it free.

Plus you get Kirk, who's a pretty good time on a job site.

From homeowners

“I was in a bind and needed 11 holes dug in less than 48hrs. Kirk was extremely generous and fit me in the very next morning. After hiring him I was reassured that I had made the right decision and so grateful I hadn't pursued renting equipment to do the job ourselves. It was too close to the house for comfort and needed someone who knew how to operate the machinery. I got other quotes that were not nearly as generous as his. He had the best price, the best attitude, is kindhearted, thorough and overall the man you want for the job! Will be recommending to anyone who needs this work.”

“He did a great job! He finished 20 post holes that were 4" wide and 42" deep in less than an hour. Communication was excellent, he showed up on time, and worked really fast. Highly recommend his post hole digging services. Pricing was good and beat digging 20 holes by hand.”

“On time, post holes were straight to proper depth, minimal ground disturbance and the price was reasonable. Mr. post hole will be my go to digger for any future work.”

FAQ

Homeowner questions

Will you damage my yard or lawn?

No. We pride ourselves on disturbing your existing lawn as little as possible. We use fiberglass composite mats to move our equipment across finished lawns, driveways and sidewalks and, more importantly, to turn our machine on your finished lawn. The mats let the machine spin in its own length on top of the mat with little to no disturbance to your property.

How much will my postholes cost?

Every job is a little different. The price depends on how many holes you need, how wide and how deep. The drilling minimum is $350 in the Fowlerville and Howell area, $400 in the Lansing area and $500 in the Detroit area. Other areas are priced by distance. Most deck and fence projects run $350–$450. Fill out the contact form and Kirk will give you an accurate estimate. See pricing and minimums

Do you handle the MISS DIG ticket?

Yes. Kirk files the MISS DIG ticket himself, through his contractor portal, for every job, commercial and residential. It's required by law and protects valuable infrastructure, and he doesn't drill without clearance. MISS DIG needs 72 business hours (Mon–Fri) to clear. A ticket submitted Friday at noon clears the following Wednesday at noon.

Will your machine fit into my backyard?

It needs a 42 inch gate. If your gate is narrower, fence sections can be removed for access. Tell us about the access when you call and we'll plan around it.

Can you help with my project layout?

Yes. Kirk does layouts for fences and straightforward decks, quoted separately. Complex decks usually come laid out by the builder. Final approval is the customer's responsibility, and we assume no liability for building code compliance.

What happens to the dirt?

We can remove the spoils from drilling. Haul-away starts at $350, or we can move the dirt wherever you want it on the property.

Tell us about your holes.

How many, how wide, how deep, and where. Kirk will text or call you back with a quote. Mon–Sat 7am–7pm.
